System Zoning – HOW IT WORKS

System zoning is a device used to control the heating and cooling of rooms throughout your home. Many times certain rooms are warmer or cooler than others; for example, heat rises, which typically causes rooms upstairs to be warmer than rooms downstairs. Oppositely, basement rooms tend to stay cooler due to the fact they are underground. Also, rooms that are on the side of your home that receives more sunlight than others take more energy to keep cool.

By using system zoning, you can control the temperature in each individual room with several thermostats placed throughout the home.

A control panel monitors the dampers within the ductwork of your air system. Thermostats are constantly reading temperatures in their specific zone. The dampers are opened or closed depending on the thermostats settings, which is a great way to heat or cool individual bedrooms to meet desired temperatures.
